Crane Tech Develops Mobile Crane Safety for Managers Course

January 27, 2016 - If a crane manager or supervisor has limited knowledge of the material-handling industry, they may rely solely on the word of the operator regarding a lift, choose the least expensive option for rigging gear or an inspection, or lack understanding to make an informed decision.

Crane Tech has recently introduced a one-day Mobile Crane Safety for Managers course that provides a high-level overview of what every manager and supervisor should have as a basic understanding to cost-effectively manage risk and create a safer job site as it relates to mobile crane operations.

Course topics include laws and regulations; training, qualification, and certification; crane dynamics; load-rating charts; crane inspections; operational aids and safety devices; site conditions and crane setup; power line safety; and lift-plan awareness.

This program is geared to crane owners, crane users, operations managers, site supervisors, safety and insurance professionals, training and purchasing managers, and lift directors. It provides a basic understanding of key concepts of crane safety to help mitigate risk and create a more reliable job site.
