Crane U to Offer Crane Operator Certification at Jefferson State Community College
February 24, 2016 - Crane U, Birmingham, Ala., has partnered with Jefferson State Community College to offer crane operator certification courses. The course is designed for students seeking a career in the construction industry as a certified crane operator.
Crane U has developed its own training materials specifically for preparing students for the nationally accredited written and practical certification exams. Crane U currently uses this training method to provide crane operator training courses throughout the United States with about an 85% pass rate.
This five day or six-week course includes classroom lecture-style training, hands-on time outside operating the crane, and written and practical certification exams administered on the final day. There is no prerequisite of previous crane experience or training. To become certified, students need a valid driver’s license and must undergo a U.S. Department of Transportation physical.
Students who successfully pass the written and practical exams will receive their crane operator certification through Crane Institute Certification (CIC), which is valid for five years.
The crane operator certification course will be offered at the Jefferson State Community College campus located at 2601 Carson Road in Birmingham.
