CTE will distribute Genie telehandlers in Italy.

June 29, 2007 • Rovereto, Italy-based CTE, Genie's partner in distribution for more than 25 years, was recently appointed with the distribution of Genie telehandlers in Italy and the countries comprising the former Yugoslavia. Terexlift srl in Umbertide, Italy, has doubled its production and staff since it was bought from Terex seven years ago and converted to Genie in 2005.

CTE's sales force will be committed to commercializing Genie's telehandlers. Adding the telehandlers to its portfolio means the company is able to supply the same customer with a wider range of equipment. The Rovereto, Dolo and Milan branches are to be directly involved in both sales and after sales services. Fifteen other branches complete CTE's network of sales and assistance.

The biggest seller in the range is the GTH 2506, according to Giuseppe Maniero, CTE's sales manager for Italy. It is one of the smallest and lightest machines in the market in its category. The machines can get over obstacles and harsh terrain thanks to their independent power steering and four-wheel drive. The gears for sideways movement are simple and efficient. Because of their extreme versatility, telescopic lifts are vital to loading and unloading operations and when moving heavy materials, whether on construction sites or in any other workplace. High quality mechanical components ensure long-lasting wear.

The compatibility of several components common to the whole range and the ease of inspection, without having to use special tools, are another advantage. It only requires one person to check hydraulic performance directly from the cabin. The Genie telehandlers have been known to climb slopes with up to a 40° height difference. Stabilizers mounted on twin axles improve performance and limit sway, giving the machine stability and ensuring operator safety.
