Doosan Infracore Expands in Northern California

August 26, 2008 • Suwanee, Ga.-based Doosan Infracore America announces the addition of Hamre Equipment Company of Chico, Calif., to its growing network of North American dealers.  Hamre serves Northern California, including such areas as Sacramento and the Napa Valley.

“Doosan is experiencing exciting growth throughout the United States and Canada as part of our strategic development efforts,” said Chris Neville, general manager of sales and marketing for Doosan Infracore. “As we move to achieve our goal of becoming one of the world's top heavy equipment companies, we know dealers such as this only make our company stronger.”

Hamre Equipment is run by the uncle and nephew team of Lee and Brian Hamre. While their company was founded in 1989, the family has been in the equipment business for three generations dating back to the 1920s.

As part of the third generation in the field, Brian Hamre sees new trends emerging today. He believes that compliance with stricter emissions standards is the biggest current industry issue, and feels Doosan products will help their dealership to meet those needs.

“We need cleaner burning products for our customers,” Brian Hamre said. “Doosan is on the leading edge of complying with the government standards and has been very successful in meeting and exceeding guidelines for noise reduction and emissions reduction. Their products are an important addition to our dealership and they've had us really busy too.”

The company recently announced the $81 million acquisition of Norway's Moxy Engineering, which includes Moxy Trucks of America. The Moxy acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008.
