Effective Compliance Date for ANSI A92.5 Around the Corner

August 9, 2006 • The effective compliance deadline for the updated ANSI/SIA A92.5-2006 standard for Boom-Supported Elevating Platforms is just around the corner. By August 28, 2006, boom lift owners, operators, and manufacturers must be familiar with the changes to the standard.

 

While many changes in the standard were made to bring the language more in-line with the verbiage used in ANSI A92.6-1999 Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, other alterations include the minimum safe approach distance to the voltage range on the power line, the use of fall protection, and the addition of stability, dynamic, curb, and depression test for manufacturers.
