Elliott Equipment Associates Win Health and Safety Awards
November 20, 2008 – Elliott Equipment Company, Omaha, Neb., a leading manufacturer of truck mounted aerial work platforms and cranes, has announced its associates Kenny Carl and Bill Wessling have been chosen to receive the William M. Kizer Light of Wellness Healthy Behavior Award and the Activate Omaha Star Bike Commuter Challenge, respectively.
The William M. Kizer Light of Wellness Healthy Behavior Award, given to Carl, recognizes healthy behavior and lifestyle changes. Carl was chosen over entries from almost 140 companies, after losing 54 pounds and 22-percent of his total body mass in “Elliott’s Biggest Loser†contest.
“I feel a lot better and am a key supporter in spreading the word on our wellness program at Elliott and am also a committee member,†he said. “I have a lot more energy since I lost the weight and have maintained my weight loss because I feel so good.â€
Wessling won the Omaha Star Bike Commuter Challenge. He was chosen over 900 other riders. He began as a team of one and rode hundreds of miles to and from work during 2008. He lost more than 15 pounds and won a new bike as part of the award.
