Harnesses
SBI-SALA ExoFit X200
The 3M DBI-SALA ExoFit X200 is a full-body safety harness designed for day-to-day work at height for crane operators and other crews working in elevated or confined spaces. The harness includes revolving torso buckles that allow workers to adjust the fit quickly and lock the webbing in place, helping maintain stability throughout a shift. An anti-sliding dorsal D-ring pad is designed to reduce movement, a frequent issue that can affect a harness’s performance under load.
The X200 also incorporates an easy-link self-retracting lifeline (SRL) adapter, which allows personal self-retracting lifelines to be connected or removed without handling excess hardware. This reduces the time workers spend switching equipment and may limit the chance of incorrect attachment in the field.
The X200 is part of the broader ExoFit line, which is built around achieving consistent fit and function across varied job conditions. According to 3M, the series continues to evolve through engineering updates and feedback from active jobsites, with an expanding range of configurations — more than 400 harness options across the X100, X200 and X300 lines. While the X200 shares this platform of standardized components and materials, its defining features focus on adjustability, connection efficiency and maintaining secure positioning at height.
Advanced ComforTech Gel 1D 7080B
Crane crews who rely on fall protection for long shifts may find the Advanced ComforTech Gel 1D 7080B harness centered on comfort as much as compliance. The most visible feature, the gel endoskeleton, is built into the shoulder yoke and sub-pelvic pads, designed to reduce fatigue in areas that often experience pressure during overhead or suspended work. The harness adjusts with aluminum camlock torso adjusters and tongue-buckle leg straps with nine grommeted settings, giving workers a broad range of fit options.
A forged aluminum dorsal D-ring provides the main attachment point and meets a 5,000-pound minimum static strength. The dorsal sleeve is built to accept personal self-retracting lifelines without additional connectors, and a quick-connect chest buckle includes a visual indicator to confirm proper engagement.
The 7080B also includes a suspension trauma relief system meant to assist a worker who is suspended after a fall until help arrives. Its components, including polyester webbing, aluminum alloy hardware and plated alloy steel, meet the required strength ratings, including a minimum static strength of 3,600 pounds. The harness complies with ANSI Z359.11-2014, OSHA 1926.502, OSHA 1910.140 and CSA Z259.10-2018, with user capacity ranging from 130 to 310 pounds under ANSI and up to 425 pounds under OSHA.
Starke Deluxe
The Starke Deluxe safety harness is designed to support both safety and comfort where it’s critical, helping reduce fatigue with ultra-comfortable shoulder and back padding while meeting key industry safety standards.
Constructed with polyester webbing and a steel dorsal D-ring positioned on the back, the harness is rated to handle workers up to 420 pounds. Leg straps use tongue buckles, and chest straps use mating buckles, providing a secure and adjustable fit across a range of body sizes, from small to 3XL. The padding on the shoulders and back helps distribute weight evenly, which can ease strain during extended lifts or complex crane operations.
The harness meets ANSI A10.32 and Z359.11 standards, OSHA 1926.502 and 1910.140 regulations and CSA Z259.10A requirements, ensuring compliance for both U.S. and Canadian worksites. Palmer Safety Hammerhead
Working at height demands both protection and mobility, and the Palmer Safety Hammerhead construction harness is built with crane operators and construction crews in mind. The harness includes a fall arrest dorsal D-ring at the center back, a personal SRL tunnel plate for self-retracting lifelines and a built-in, padded construction belt with side D-rings for secure work positioning. Five-point adjustability, across the chest, shoulders, waist and legs, ensures a customizable fit, while tongue-and-buckle leg straps and a quick-connect chest buckle allow fast, secure adjustments. Breakaway lanyard keepers help manage unused lanyard legs, reducing the risk of snagging, and moisture-wicking padding keeps operators cooler under heavy workloads. Built-in fall indicators provide a visual check to identify impact loads and maintain safety compliance.
Constructed from 1.73-inch high-tenacity polyester webbing with heavy-duty stitching and alloy steel hardware, the harness supports users weighing 130 to 420 pounds. It meets ANSI Z359.11-2021 and OSHA safety standards, offering reliable fall protection across a variety of high-risk tasks.
Helmets
RADIX Vented
Comfort and safety often go hand in hand when working at height, and the RADIX Vented safety helmet is designed to meet both needs. Its LUX Suspension system and ForgeLock magnetic chinstrap provide a secure, adjustable fit, allowing operators to focus on the task at hand without constant readjustments. The oversized ratcheting dial makes size changes easy, even with gloves on, and accommodates head sizes from 6 ½ to 8.
Twelve ventilation channels and a DualZone air-mesh liner keep airflow moving, while a moisture-wicking, antimicrobial interior helps manage heat and sweat during long shifts. The helmet’s exclusive Brim Grip design ensures a stable hold during adjustments, even in wet or slick conditions.
The RADIX also offers integrated accessory compatibility, with six built-in attachment points that work with headlamps, hearing protection and other modular gear. This adaptability allows operators to tailor their helmets to the demands of their work sites without sacrificing safety or comfort.
Constructed with high-quality materials, the helmet weighs roughly 495 grams (1.09 pounds) and is designed for a service life of three to five years, though daily inspections are recommended to assess wear.
MSA V-Guard H1
The MSA V-Gard H1 safety helmet with Trivent Fas-Trac III Pivot can provide adaptability, offering a low-profile design suitable for crane work, tower climbing, forestry, rescue and confined-space tasks.
The Fas-Trac III Pivot ratchet suspension ensures a secure fit while allowing a full range of motion. A non-contact foam liner enhances airflow, and vented models further improve ventilation for long shifts. The four-point chinstrap features multiple adjustment points, and the moisture-wicking headband can be replaced in the field, helping maintain comfort during extended work periods.
The helmet also accommodates essential worksite accessories. Its push-button attachment rail and universal lighting clips allow headlamps, visors or other gear to be installed or removed quickly. A built-in rescue whistle in the chinstrap provides an additional safety measure in emergencies.
Meeting ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 Type 1, Class C standards, the V-Gard H1 provides impact protection while remaining practical and ergonomic.
Traverse
The Traverse industrial climbing helmet with Mips brain protection system delivers impact protection for workers at height or in confined spaces. Certified to ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type II, Class E and EN12492 standards, it has earned a five-star rating from the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab for performance against both linear and rotational impacts.
The helmet combines a lightweight acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) outer shell with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam liner to absorb forces from front, side and rear impacts. The Mips system, a low-friction layer inside the helmet, allows the head to move 10 to 15 millimeters during angled impacts, helping reduce harmful rotational motion transmitted to the brain.
A four-point high-density polyethylene suspension with a SURE-LOCK wheel ratchet ensures a secure, adjustable fit across a range of head sizes. The cross-over chinstrap with quick-release buckle further enhances stability, while padded areas along the brow line improve comfort during extended use.
The Traverse is also compatible with a full line of accessories, allowing workers to add lights, visors or other gear as needed.
Type II +
Bullard has introduced its new Type II + safety helmet, combining top- and side-impact coverage with features focused on comfort, adaptability and durability. Certified to ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type II standards, it incorporates innovations that address both safety and long hours on the job.
The new helmet features the FlexBrim removable brim, which allows users to convert between a standard and full-brim helmet in seconds without tools. Inside, a breathable mesh crown support, self-adjusting nape and an adjustable center of gravity provide a secure, personalized fit. The helmet accommodates a broad range of head sizes, from 6¼ to 8.
Built for field use, the Type II + includes tool-free, replaceable components such as the suspension, brow pad, chin strap and FlexBrim, extending helmet life and lowering long-term costs. Integrated accessory slots allow the addition of sunshades, neck shades, lights and hearing protection, with retractable eye protection and other upgrades planned for the future.
