Gates Plans September Opening for Va. Production Plant

June 4, 2007 • Gates Corp., Denver, Colo., announced it plans to be up and running at its new Washington County, Va., production plant by September. Gates is expected to hire 172 employees at the plant.

 

The hydraulic assemblies manufacturer is the first company to move into the Highlands Business Park, which has sat empty for five years. Gates is benefiting from a nearly $1 million free building, which is being paid for with state and county dollars. County officials said they will get the money back in taxes.
