Goodyear Names Vice President Off-Highway Business
September 9, 2008 • Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named John Cavanaugh as vice president of the company's North American off-highway business. Cavanaugh succeeds Joe Copeland, who was recently named vice president, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems in
Goodyear North America company president, Richard Kramer, made the announcement. Goodyear's off-highway business unit is responsible for tires used in applications for aviation, racing, motorcycles and off-the-road vehicles such as those used in mining and earth moving.
Cavanaugh, 38, has a broad base of experience both inside and outside Goodyear. He came to Goodyear in July 2003 as director, financial strategy and served in that role for seven months before being named assistant treasurer. In December 2006, he became financial director of the off-highway business. He increased his experience in this business unit by serving as director, racing operations, from June 2007 through January 2008. Since then, Cavanaugh has been financial director, commercial tire systems, North American Tire.
