Grove Introduces RT535E Rough-Terrain Crane

October 2, 2006 • Grove Crane, Shady Grove, Pa., recently launched a new 35-ton rough-terrain crane, the RT535E. Featuring a four-section, 102-foot full power boom, the RT535E reaches a maximum tip height of 154 feet with a 26- to 45-foot offsettable swingaway extension.

 

The crane's rectangular boom features high-strength steel, which offers weight savings and improved lifting capacity. The new cab design features a more modern appearance and an improved, streamlined dashboard control panel. The RT535E also features the Work Area Definition System, which allows the operator to pre-set safe working areas.

 

Maximum line pull from the main hoist is 11,640 pounds, while maximum line speed is 445 feet per minute. The RT535E uses 0.6 inch wire rope and can accommodate 450 ft. of rope on both the main and auxiliary hoists. Power comes from a Cummins QSB 5.9 liter six-cylinder diesel engine, offering 155 hp at 2500 rpm. Maximum travel speed is 25 mph.

 

Doyle Bryant, director of product development and marketing for Grove, noted the RT535E “is strong, reliable, and easy to transport • a real workhorse on the jobsite.” He added that it fits nicely between the company's existing 30- and 40-ton rough-terrain cranes.

 

“The RT remains a very popular crane not only here in the United States, but on jobsites around the world,” Bryant said. “We expect this new RT535E to generate interest around the globe.”
