H&E Equipment Services Fills New Top Executive Position

November 11, 2005 — Baton Rouge, La.-based H&E Equipment Services recently promoted Bradley W. Barber, previously vice president of rental operations, to the new position of executive vice president & general manager. In his new role, Barber will oversee all sales, rentals, and marketing operations.

 

Most of Barber's experience in the equipment industry has come from his years of employment with H&E Equipment Services. After a short period with a rental house in the early 1990s, Barber was hired in 1994 by H&E as regional rental manager. During the past decade, he has held many positions, including branch manager, divisional rental manager and vice president of rental operations.

 

“Brad has done an excellent job of turning around struggling stores and improving operations and processes to increase profitability,” said John Engquist, president and CEO of H&E Equipment Services. “Brad ends up taking the job that no one else wants and succeeds.”

 

Barber said his focus will continue to be on discovering weak areas that can be improved by providing better information/data. “Better information drives efficiencies that result in enhanced profits,” he said. “I am convinced that smart people, with good information, make good decisions that lead to profitability.”
