Hiab’s New 90-tm Loader Crane Features Advanced Operating System
Sept. 14, 2022 – Hiab’s newly launched Hiab iQ.958 HiPro heavy loader crane has a maximum moment of 90 tonne meters (650,970 ft. lbs.) and features the advanced SpaceEvo operating system.
Hiab says that the iQ.958 HiPro delivers an excellent lift-to-weight ratio, and that the SpaceEvo system improves productivity and safety.
Hiab will feature the new model at the IAA show, pavilion P35, in Hannover, Germany, Sept. 20 - 25.
The Hiab iQ.958 HiPro is the second model in the iQ range, which features advanced technology introduced with the Hiab iQ.1188 HiPro.
The Hiab iQ.958 HiPro builds on the structure of the V12-Power boom shape for both the crane and jib. The result is an extremely light, compact crane with a width of less than 2 m (6’7”) that can be installed on smaller trucks within the four-axle, 32 tonnes (35.2-USt) gross vehicle weight category. That leaves plenty of payload capacity that can reduce the number of trips needed.
The lighter vehicle weight, higher payload, and resulting need for fewer trips contributes to lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions, said Hiab.
The SpaceEvo system enables precise operation even at high speed. It also offers advanced safety and productivity features like VSL+ (Variable Stability Logic Plus) that can maximize the lifting capacity by calculating the stability according to the position of the stabilizers and the actual total weight of the truck.
The DLC-S (Dynamic Load Chart) lets the operator set up the crane quicker by simulating the load capacity before opening the stabilizers. That avoids lost time in finding the correct stabilizer position for maximum capacity. This can be done from the comfort of the truck cab, particularly handy when operating in adverse weather.
The standard XS Drive remote control can be replaced with the new optional CombiDrive 4, which enhances crane operation with new safety features such as Confirm View to find the best field of view, three high-definition and bright color displays, and a long-lasting battery with single-user operator personalization settings.
“The Hiab iQ.958 HiPro is a technologically advanced crane for its category, offering great performance for a wide variety of lifts both in horizontal and vertical positions. The crane offers among the best in class lifting performance when using the eighth extension in combination with the six-extension jib (Jib 155Q). This maximizes the available jib power to provide superior load capability,” says Marcel Boxem, director, global product management, loader cranes heavy & super heavy, Hiab.
The new models will also be offered in non-CE versions, equipped with the control system Space X4 and the optional CombiDrive 3 remote control.
