STUDSON has officially released its HighBar-equipped SHK-1 Type II safety helmet, now shipping to workers in construction and other heavy-industry sectors. The system marks a first for industrial safety headgear, replacing traditional web-splitter and ladder-buckle setups with a single polymer strap design.

“Following the overwhelmingly positive reception of the concept last year, we are thrilled to confirm that the HighBar-Equipped STUDSON SHK-1 Type II helmet is now generally available and shipping to industrial athletes,” said Ryan Barnes, founder and CEO, STUDSON. The chinstrap system, he added, is intended to make adoption easier for workers unfamiliar with conventional helmet strap designs.

The HighBar structure uses rigid polymer arms that pivot from the helmet brim, allowing workers to stow the system between tasks. A one-handed twist dial provides micro-adjustment while wearing gloves. “The HighBar system ensures that active industrial workers can wear the STUDSON SHK-1 safety helmet properly without sacrificing comfort on the job,” said Andrew Herrick, general manager, HighBar LLC.

The helmet incorporates Koroyd polymer tubes designed for impact absorption and ventilation and includes embedded Twiceme Technology, giving workers the option to store critical medical information for emergency access.

STUDSON has also added an augmented-reality try-on feature for customers evaluating the new chinstrap style before purchasing.
