Hoffman International’s William Hoffman Jr. Dies

February 26, 2014 - Following a brief illness, William A. Hoffman Jr., second-generation owner of Hoffman International, Piscataway, N.J., passed away at the age of 84. He took over the reins of the heavy construction equipment distribution business in 1956, which was founded in 1920 by his father. Hoffman retired in 2002 as president and chairman of the company.

 

He served as a member of the board of directors of SC&RA in the mid-1960s, and was chairman from 1978 to 1979. He also served as a naval officer in the Korean War both in Korea and on the USS Sarasota and the USS Terribone.
