Industry Remembers Bragg Cranes President

March 31, 2009 – George Bragg, president of Bragg Crane Service, Long Beach, Calif., passed away on March 28. Bragg was a longtime industry veteran and a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association board of directors.

The Bragg family released a statement with the announcement yesterday. “We and the generations to follow will continue the legacy that our grandfather began and his children have grown,” the statement said. “His passion and leadership in our company and the industry have created opportunities for all of us to strive to raise industry standards. As we all move forward with our daily responsibilities, we hope to uphold the values and work ethic that he has represented in his life.”

“George’s contributions to the association and the industry are countless but he will be most remembered for his strong family ties and commitments and his dry but witty sense of humor,” said SC&RA Executive Vice President Joel Dandrea. “George will be sadly missed by his family, friends and industry colleagues.”

Bragg served the industry extensively over the years, rising through the ranks at the SC&RA from chair of the Crane & Rigging Group to become SC&RA chairman for 1990-91. In recent years, he has been active on the association's board of directors and the insurance committee.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Church of Santa Ana, in Santa Ana, Calif.
