Industry Mourns Leon Burkhalter’s Passing

June 9, 2015 - Cecil Leon Burkhalter, who founded Burkhalter, South Columbus, Miss., passed away in late May in Tupelo, Miss. Burkhalter, who launched Burkhalter Rigging in 1973, was 84.

 

Hs work ethics and “never ever give up” philosophy set a firm foundation for his business. His son, Delynn Burkhalter, is a past chairman and current treasurer of SC&RA. In addition to his son, Burkhalter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Burkhalter; daughter, Wanda Burkhalter; daughter in law, Sue Burkhalter; a brother and brother in law, as well as grandsons and great grandchildren.
