Industry Vet Smith Leads XCMG's U.S. Expansion

Oct. 16, 2019 – Equipment industry veteran Dennis J. Smith has joined XCMG North America Corp., Las Vegas. Smith is leading development of XCMG’s distribution network and product offerings in the United States.

Smith’s nearly 50 years of experience in the equipment industry includes management of U.S. sales and support for a Caterpillar dealer and a who’s who of major Asian manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, Daewoo, Hyundai, Mitsui, and Zoomlion. He has also owned a tree-care service in Pennsylvania and been an industry consultant.  

Smith says that XCMG was attractive because it already has a solid base in the U.S., with an established parts distribution center, service organization, and nearly 800 pieces of equipment in the field.

The company’s U.S. equipment offerings include excavators, wheel loaders, compactors, rough-terrain cranes, and recently added, boom trucks. Smith says more types of cranes will be added to the product range by early next year.
