Inspeq Adds AI-Assisted Inspections for Equipment Reporting
Inspeq adds AI-assisted inspections that let equipment inspectors build reports, capture evidence, and process data in real time.
August 25, 2026 - Krank Limited has expanded its Inspeq inspection platform with a new AI-Assisted Inspections capability that allows inspectors to complete reports while examining equipment.
The feature is designed to combine inspection work and reporting into a single workflow. Inspectors can dictate observations, capture photographs and video, and have AI complete report fields, organize supporting evidence, and generate a structured inspection report in real time.
Rather than recording inspection information in the field and completing reports later, the system updates the report as the inspection progresses. Inspeq also provides real-time responses that indicate completed fields, record actions, and identify information that is still required.
The AI-Assisted Inspections feature uses voice commands to allow inspectors to describe equipment conditions while they work. Supporting photographs and video can be connected to relevant inspection items, while the system can identify missing information before an inspection is complete.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) can extract information such as serial numbers, engine numbers, makes, and models from equipment identification plates. Inspectors can also add or remove report fields during an inspection.
The system includes multi-language voice support, allowing inspectors to complete the hands-free workflow in their preferred language.
"We see reporting as something that should happen naturally as an inspection takes place, rather than as a separate task afterwards," said Khurram Mumtaz, chief product & technology officer at Krank. "AI-Assisted Inspections change the role of AI from processing information after the event to supporting inspectors while they're on site, making reporting faster, more consistent and easier to complete."
According to Krank’s internal studies, AI-Assisted Inspections reduce inspection completion time by up to 45%, improve field-level accuracy by 32%, and remove at least 40% of manual data entry through AI-assisted field completion and automation.
The feature also connects completed inspections, supporting evidence, and identified issues with assets, sites, work orders, corrective tasks, and maintenance records within the Inspeq platform.
Krank said the capability is intended for organizations managing equipment across asset-intensive industries, including construction, mining, equipment rental, and manufacturing. It also is designed to support teams working across remote or geographically dispersed locations by making inspection findings available as the inspection is completed.
“Inspection teams are being asked to cover more equipment, often across multiple sites and locations, so we have focused on where technology can remove unnecessary work from that process,” said Mark Turner, CEO of Krank. “AI-Assisted inspections allow the inspector to concentrate on the equipment in front of them, while the reporting is handled alongside the inspection. It means their expertise can be used where it adds the most value.”
