ITI Offers New Course About Severe Weather Effects on Crane Operation

Feb. 8, 2022 - Industrial Training International (ITI) now offers a new course about the effects of severe weather on crane operations.

The new, online course is designed to address how environmental factors, specifically weather, can affect crane operations.

The course modules consist of narrated videos, reference materials, and interactive elements intended to solidify key learning objectives.

Those objectives include:

How wind loads can affect crane operations (standards and references, wind effects, wind measuring, OEM wind-loading assessment, and mitigating wind-load risk).

How lightning can affect crane operations (standards and regulations, lightning effects, lightning detection, and mitigating lightning risk).

How temperature can affect crane operations (temperature effects, equipment, personnel, and mitigating temperature risk).

How to mitigate risk associated with severe weather.

And case studies reviewing past crane accidents.

When a student successfully completes the course, a certificate of completion will be recorded and accessible for download and printing on the individual's learning record, and 0.05 continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded.
