JLG to buy Manitowoc's Toucan, Liftlux lines

March 29, 2004 -JLG Industries, McConnellsburg , Pa. , has made a binding offer to buy Delta Manlift, a subsidiary of Manitowoc Co., Manitowoc , Wis. Delta manufactures the Toucan brand of self-propelled vertical personnel lifts, headquartered in France and distributed throughout Europe .

Manitowoc will continue to provided aftermarket parts and service for its recently discontinued aerial work platform lines, including Liftlux, Manlift, and the U.S. parts business. In addition to the Delta transaction, JLG will acquire certain intellectual property and related assets of these discontinued product lines, which will permit JLG to re-launch selected Liftlux models at a later date.
