JLG's Senior VP of Engineering to Retire
September 10, 2008 • Wayne MacDonald, senior vice president of engineering for McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries and an instrumental player in the company's success since 1975, has announced he will retire on Sept. 30.
“Like many on our team, I have had the pleasure of personally working with Wayne throughout my career and appreciate all he has done for the organization and his team,” said Craig Paylor, Oshkosh executive vice president and president of JLG. “Wayne's commitment to product innovation, continuous improvement. and customer focus has been instrumental in both establishing and strengthening our global leadership position in the access industry. Throughout his career, JLG products have been firmly entrenched as industry leaders with breakthrough product designs, state-of-the-art electronic control systems, a full line of product accessories, and new models or features launched each and every year.”
Paylor said MacDonald has been actively involved in selecting and preparing his successor. “This process will ensure that we have a successor and team capable of driving JLG's leadership position well into the future,” he added.
Although the information has not been confirmed, Timothy Hatch, vice president of value engineering, is considered to be a front runner to step in MacDonald's very large shoes.
