Kirby-Smith Names Chief Financial Officer

June 30, 2015: Kirby-Smith Machinery Inc. has promoted J.D. Young as its new chief financial officer. 

Young joined Kirby-Smith in April as a controller and was quickly promoted to CFO position in June, after former CFO Keith Tippett retired. Young has spent the past 13+ years with a Dallas-based machinery dealer and has held the CFO position at three previous companies as well.

“I’ve inherited a very strong and impressive finance and accounting department,” said Young. “I would like to build on this strong foundation by enhancing the usefulness of our financial reporting.  I enjoy helping to make financial information come alive to the various stakeholders and will work to enhance various areas of our reporting.”

 

Young has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M. He has been married to his wife for 23 years, and they have four children.
