Konecranes has received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for its sustainability performance, marking the first time the company has achieved the platform’s highest ranking.
The improved score places Konecranes in the top 1% of more than 100,000 companies evaluated worldwide. The rating recognizes progress across all measured areas, including environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
“This milestone is the result of excellent work across the entire company and reflects the steady and positive progress we have made in delivering on our sustainability commitments,” said Marko Tulokas, president and CEO of Konecranes. “The execution of our sustainability agenda continues, and ratings like EcoVadis are increasingly important as they are used by our customers, for example, when choosing equipment and service partners.”
EcoVadis evaluates companies based on policies, actions and results, using an evidence-based assessment of non-financial management systems and sustainability performance. Prior to this year, Konecranes held a Gold rating for four consecutive years.
The company’s sustainability agenda is built around four commitments: enabling a decarbonized and circular world, delivering safe and secure material handling solutions, fostering a fair and inclusive workplace and upholding high ethical standards across its operations and business partners. Konecranes has set measurable targets in each area and reports progress regularly.
Konecranes said its continued investment in digitalization, technology and safety supports both sustainability goals and customer needs across the material handling industry.
