Larry Silber Named President, Utility Equipment for Ingersoll Rand

August 8, 2006 • Ingersoll Rand, Davidson, N.C., announces the appointment of Larry Silber to president of the Utility Equipment division, effective August 1, 2006.

In addition to taking on new responsibility for the Utility Equipment business, Silber maintains his current responsibility for sales to the rental industry for the Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies and Compact Vehicle Technologies sectors.

Over the past four years, Silber has worked as president of Rental, Remarketing and Latin America. During this time, he was instrumental in growing remarketing to a $100 million global business and substantially impacting sales and marketing of Ingersoll Rand products in Latin America.

Silber joined Ingersoll Rand in 1978 as a sales trainee and spent his early career in the Tool and Hoist business. He advanced through sales and marketing positions to become business unit manager for material handling and vice president for Latin America and Canada in 1994.

In 1997, Silber moved to the Ingersoll Rand Construction and Mining Group, where he was vice president of rental sales and strategic business development and was promoted to vice president of sales for North America in 1998.

In 2000, Silber was named president of Ingersoll Rand Equipment and Services in North America with responsibility for all company-owned channels of distribution and service. He held that position until moving into his current role in 2002.
