LGH Presents Crane and Rigging Competency Assessment Webinar
March 15, 2016 - Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) will present the “International Competency Assessment Board (I-CAB) Assessment” live webinar on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT. The webinar will be hosted by Mike Parnell of Industrial Training International (ITI), with guests, Sheldon Redpath, the global head of SHE-Q, Mammoet; and Robert Day, the senior regulatory advisor and licensed investigator at Suncor Energy.
The webinar was created to help improve the way crane and rigging competency is measured within the crane and rigging field. An industry-focused improvement team was established to evaluate a skills assessment tool created with the help of the International Competency Assessment Board (I-CAB). It was decided that an assessment was needed due to the complex nature of managing crane and rigging competencies.
During this webinar, the use of the Crane and Riggers Assessment Tool will be reviewed with all participants, who will learn how this tool can be used to reduce high-risk events through increasing cumulative competency of personnel. The webinar will also teach how the assessment can save both time and money by providing individual learning plans based on assessment results, and pinpoint deficiencies in current knowledge of personnel, thus allowing for tailored training sessions.
