Liebherr Offers Introductory Technician Class

October 5, 2007 • A new technician class is now available at the Liebherr service facility in Houston, Texas. “Level 1: Introduction to Liebherr Mobile Cranes” is a class specifically designed for technicians without crane experience.

According Ingo Schiller, executive vice president of sales for Liebherr Cranes Inc., Newport News, Va., the company decided to offer this entry-level class as a way to draw more people into the industry and help meet the crane technician shortage.

While the company has previously offered a series of specialty courses, such as engines and controls, this is the first class that doesn't require any prior experience. During the five-day course students will learn about crane systems, load charts, crane symbols and basic electronics, hydraulics and schematics, among other topics.

The first course is scheduled for Oct. 15-19, 2007. For pricing and registration contact Tammy Jones or Mary Juarez at tammy.jones@liebherr.com or mary.juarez@liebherr.com.
