Lift Table Assists in Jet Engine Testing

November 6, 2008 – A lift table, supplied by Pentalift Equipment Corp., Guelph, Ont., allows workers easy access to aid in the testing and certification process of aircraft jet engines. During the testing and certification process, a new jet engine is suspended from an outdoor fixture and operated through a wide range of environmental conditions for an extended period of time. The engine must be tested and inspected on an ongoing basis. The lift table, installed on an industrial truck chassis, is driven to the test site and positioned under the aircraft engine. Technicians are then raised to a safe working height to perform their assigned tasks. The lift table illustrated has a platform size of 16’ x 24’, raises 15 feet, and has a lifting capacity of 16,000 pounds.
