Link-Belt Cranes to Challenge Anti-Dumping Tariff Determination
Link-Belt Cranes will challenge a U.S. Commerce Department anti-dumping determination on lattice boom crawler crane imports.
July 27, 2026 - Link-Belt Cranes has announced plans to challenge the U.S. Department of Commerce’s final anti-dumping determination involving imports of lattice boom crawler cranes (LBCCs) and LBCC assemblies from Japan.
The Lexington, Kentucky-based crane manufacturer said it intends to bring the matter before the U.S. Court of International Trade, citing concerns with the Commerce Department’s analysis and stating that the determination contains errors.
“The Commerce Department’s analysis contains significant errors and runs afoul of the law. Link-Belt intends to challenge the U.S. Department of Commerce’s final anti-dumping determination concerning lattice boom crawler cranes (LBCCs) at the U.S. Court of International Trade.”
According to Link-Belt, anti-dumping duties are currently in effect but remain subject to judicial review. The company stated that if its challenge is successful, it will be entitled to seek refunds of any cash deposits paid to U.S. Customs.
“We wish to emphasize to our customers, partners, and stakeholders that while the anti-dumping duties are currently in effect, they remain subject to judicial review. If we are successful in our challenge before the Court of International Trade, we will be entitled to seek refunds of any cash deposits paid to Customs. We strongly dispute the determination and believe it is not supported by the facts or applicable law.”
The company said it believes its case has merit and plans to present its arguments before the Court of International Trade.
“We have full confidence in the merits of our case. We look forward to presenting our case before the Court and demonstrating that the Department’s determination was in error.”
