March 18, 2020 -- The coronavirus is affecting the world in massive ways. Forcing business shutdowns, construction stoppages, and event cancellations, the pandemic is sending waves throughout the entire construction industry.

Steel Erectors Association of America
April 1 – 3, 2020
In light of ongoing developments surrounding COVID-19, its impact on public health, and subsequent restrictions on corporate travel, the board of directors of the Steel Erectors Association of America has decided to cancel its convention and trade show, previously scheduled for April 1-3 in Charleston, South Carolina.
â€‹SEAA will announce the winners of its Project of the Year competition and Safety & Training Awards in April, but is planning an in-person presentation of these awards for a future date. In addition, the association is considering delivering some of the education sessions planned for the convention in alternative ways. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
SC&RA Annual Conference
April 14 – 18, 2020
The SC&RA board of directors voted to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference scheduled for April 14-18 in Amelia Island. Based upon the developments of the past few weeks, and looking beyond the business and logistic issues, their top priority is protecting the health and safety of their members and staff.
North American Iron Workers Impact
April 14 – 17, 2020
In a statement on their website: “Due to directives issued by the Governor of the State of Illinois and the Mayor of the City of Chicago banning large group gatherings for the next 30+ days, we have canceled the 2020 IMPACT of Tech Conference. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando next February.”
April 19 – 22, 2020
After monitoring the evolving situation, the AWRF Executive Committee and the Association’s Management Staff has announced that the AWRF Spring General Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida, will be cancelled. The next meeting will be in Denver, October 4 – 7, 2020.
April 27 – 30, 2020
The SAIA Leadership has made a decision to cancel the in-person meeting on April 27 - 30th in Kansas City, Missouri. The SAIA Leadership holds the health and safety of its industry professionals in high regard, and with the current situation, feel that it is best to hold these meetings through video conferencing. They're in the process of rescheduling the council and committee meetings, so stay tuned for updates as they become available.
May 12 – 15, 2020
After continuous monitoring of the evolving situation and much deliberation, the ACRP executive committee and the Association’s management staff has announced that the ACRP General Assembly Meeting in San Diego, California will be cancelled. This decision was made ultimately with the health, safety, and well-being of the ACRP members, management team, speakers, and the community-at-large.

CRAC has announced the postponement of the 2020 CRAC Conference, with a date to be announced later.

Registration remains open and plans are still underway for CLEANPOWER 2020 in Denver. The early bird deadline has been extended to April 10, 2020. The AWEA will provide updates if new information becomes available that may impact the event.

An official announcement from ASSP said, “As of March 18, we plan to present Safety 2020 June 23-25 in Orlando, Florida. This includes our pre- and post-conference courses. We understand that some companies are temporarily restricting travel and/or conference registration at this time, and we recognize your need for flexibility. That’s why we have extended our early registration rate deadline through Monday, April 27, at 11:59 p.m. CT. In the event Safety 2020 is cancelled, we will refund your registration.”
