LJ Crane & Rigging Expands Fleet

February 11, 2008 • The Cranston, R.I-based LJ Companies, which includes LJ Crane & Rigging, LJ Heavy Hauling and LJ Specialized Logistics, is adding multiple crane models to its fleet. According to Paul Fioravanti, vice president and chief operating officer, LJ has large orders with local dealer Shawmut Equipment, Manchester, Conn., for Grove models TMS760E, TMS800E, GMK4115, GMK5130, GMK5165, GMK5275, GMK7550, and Manitowoc models 10000, 12000, 14000, 999 and 2250.

LJ also plans to expand its Potain tower crane fleet with the addition of more cranes purchased directly from the manufacturer including the Potain MD485 hammerhead, MR605B and MR615B luffing tower cranes.

The addition of multiple cranes will make LJ's fleet among the youngest and most diverse in North America, according to a company statement. The additional commitment to Potain luffing tower cranes will bring LJ's Potain fleet to more than 20 tower cranes, and more than 60 cranes overall, available for bare or operated rental anywhere in North America.

LJ has grown nearly 500 percent over the last three years and has been recognized by Providence Business News as one of the fastest growing Rhode Island-based companies two years in a row.

LJ has provided cranes, equipment and highly trained crane operators to support several large scale construction projects throughout North America including highway and bridge, infrastructure, hotel, hospitality, gaming, manufacturing, health care, and large commercial projects.
