February 11, 2008 • The LJ Companies, Cranston, R.I., has announced the addition of Robert Renzi as its director of safety and training. Renzi is a 21-year veteran of the construction equipment industry and has served more than 15 years in sales and safety roles with Shaughnessy Crane Service of Boston.

“This recent staff addition is consistent with our strategic business plan as we aim to offer our customers the best equipment and most professional staff in the heavy lift equipment and specialized logistics market segments,” said Paul Fioravanti, vice president and chief operating officer.

After serving several years as director of safety for Northstar Equipment, Renzi became an independent safety consultant and has conducted numerous training programs and seminars throughout the United States, offering customized training and certification for organizations such as the Orange County California Sanitation District, the State of Washington Highway Department, and numerous construction contractors. Renzi has been trained and certified in train-the-trainer programs by manufacturers including Grove, JLG, Genie, Skyjack, and Terex and the National Safety Council's program on powered industrial trucks.

“We place the highest emphasis on employee, worksite, workplace and equipment safety and Bob will expand our program and compliance monitoring as we continue to grow,” said Fioravanti.
