April 14, 2015 - During the renovation of Kyle Field on the Texas A&M campus, a mini-crane made lifting a large sign frame possible in the narrow work area.

The project required the sign frame to be hoisted inside the completed stadium. The Maeda MC405 has a width of only 4’6”, and its 6’6” height allows it to pass through the stadium gates. Once inside the work area, the outriggers were deployed, and the MC405 lifted the 1,000-lb. sign frame over the existing stair/escalator area. Maeda’s precision controls made fine adjustments as the frame was bolted in place. The installation was completed safely and efficiently in minimal time and labor with no delays or interruptions to other subcontractors on site.

Kyle Field wasn't the first stadium job Maeda mini-cranes have worked on. Other stadiums requiring a Maeda crane to work in a confined area included Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill., the Miami Marlins Stadium in Miami, Fla, and Daytona Speedway in Daytona, Fla.
