Manitex Unveils New 19-Ton Boom Truck Crane

July 8, 2013- Manitex, Inc. has unveiled its newest boom truck crane, the 19-ton 1970C. The 1970C is one of the highest-capacity cranes available on a 4x2 chassis, and is expected to be widely used in rental applications.

“The 1970C boom truck strikes the perfect balance between the three things customers tell us they care about most: features, cost and ease of use,” said Randy Robertson, director of sales and marketing for Manitex. “With its familiar, user-friendly controls and built-in safety features, the 1970C allows operators to get up and running quickly and with confidence.”

The 1970C offers:

• 19-ton capacity
• 70 ft. three-section proportional boom
• 121 ft. 3 in. Max boom tip height (with optional 2-piece jib)
• Fixed jib option
• Self-lubricating boom slider pads
• Two-speed planetary hoist with grooved drum and negative draft flanges
• Load-moment indicator system
• Two-section telescopic jib option
• A-frame outriggers and stabilizers

In addition, the 1970C requires no additional counter weight, offering greater payload capabilities. The 1970C is also designed to be installed on all North American made truck chassis that meet Manitex’s truck chassis requirements.

With testing all but complete, Manitex has received a number of orders for the new 1970C. Production deliveries are expected to begin in July, 2013.
