Manitowoc Employees Raise More Than $14,000 for K9s For Warriors

July 24, 2026 - Manitowoc employees across the company participated in the second annual "Empowering Warriors & Raising Hope" initiative in June, raising more than $14,000 to support K9s For Warriors while increasing awareness of the challenges facing military veterans.

The initiative was organized by Manitowoc's Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG) and included employees at the company's Shady Grove manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania, its corporate office in Milwaukee and all 17 MGX Equipment Services locations.

K9s For Warriors, based in Ponte Vedra, Florida, rescues shelter dogs and trains them as service animals for veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder. According to the organization, its program helps veterans regain independence, confidence and hope while providing rescue dogs with a second chance.

The campaign centered on the number 22, which has been widely used in awareness efforts related to veteran suicide.

At the Shady Grove manufacturing facility, 56 employees completed a combined 1,181 laps around a Grove TMS800-2 truck crane wrapped in a U.S. flag design. The crane served as the focal point for the walking route and displayed the American flag along with flags representing each branch of the U.S. military.

Employees at Manitowoc's Milwaukee corporate office also participated in the campaign. On June 9, 40 employees packed 22 backpacks with supplies and completed 22 laps along a designated walking route.

Across all 17 MGX Equipment Services locations, 358 employees took part in a "22 Lunch" fundraiser by contributing $2.22 for a meal that included a hot dog, chips and a soda.

Additional support came through the purchase of 45 limited-edition "22" shirts, with proceeds benefiting K9s For Warriors. Employee donations and fundraising activities generated just over $4,000, and the Manitowoc Foundation contributed an additional $10,000, bringing the total contribution to more than $14,000.
