Manitowoc Expands Rapid Response Crane Repair Shop
Manitowoc expands its Rapid Response Shop in Pennsylvania to support structural crane repairs and aftermarket service.
June 16, 2026 - Manitowoc has expanded its Rapid Response Shop in North America, increasing aftermarket support capabilities for structural crane repairs and component refurbishment across its equipment portfolio.
Located within the company’s manufacturing facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, the expanded Rapid Response Shop supports Manitowoc, Grove, Potain and National Crane equipment. According to the company, the facility is designed to handle structural repairs and component work that are too large or complex to complete in the field.
The expansion adds manufacturing and repair capabilities intended to improve turnaround times for customers dealing with damaged or out-of-service equipment. Services available through the shop include fabricated components, structural repair and refurbishment and lacing production for crawler cranes, tower cranes and mobile crane jibs.
Manitowoc said same-day emergency lacing orders are available, while standard delivery times are 24 hours for unpainted lacings and 48 hours for painted lacings.
Equipment at the facility includes expanded cutting capabilities, machining, bending, preparation and paint operations. The shop now includes two lacing-cutting machines operating across two shifts, along with plasma, laser and oxy-fuel cutting tables. Additional capabilities include CNC equipment, milling, lathe and boring mill resources, press brake capability up to 900 U.S. tons, and multiple blast, wash, preparation and paint areas.
According to Manitowoc, the Rapid Response Shop team has an average employee tenure of more than 20 years.
“The expansion of the Rapid Response Shop gives customers direct access to Manitowoc’s factory expertise — the welders, technicians, engineers and support teams who understand these machines from the inside out. It reflects a broader commitment to supporting customers throughout the full lifecycle of their cranes, with factory-backed resources that keep their equipment working and productive long after it leaves the production line,” said Josh Garrington, director of product support for parts and EnCORE.
The company said the expansion also streamlines repair workflows. Because the shop is located within the Shady Grove manufacturing facility, teams can access additional tooling, fixtures, engineering and manufacturing resources when needed.
“We looked at what customers need when a crane or component requires more than a field repair, and the answer was to put more of Manitowoc’s resources directly behind that work. We are giving our customers a direct path back to Manitowoc and the support only an OEM can provide,” said Garrington.
