Manitowoc Announces Layoffs

June 13, 2016 – Manitowoc has announced layoffs at its Shady Grove, Pa., plant. About 70 workers are affected.

Brian Smith, director of human resources, made the announcement, adding that a similar reduction has taken place at the company’s Wisconsin facility, according to a report at www.therecordherald.com.

He added that the reduction was due to the "prolonged decline in the crane market." If the crane market were to improve, some employees could potentially be eligible for rehire, according to Smith.
