Manitowoc Continues to Restructure with Customers in Mind
March 7, 2014- Manitowoc has made more appointments in its product line-based structure that will focus its cranes, services, processes, and support more directly on customers.
As previously announced, Larry Weyers is now global executive vice president for Manitowoc Cranes, with overall responsibility for the product lines and the global sales and marketing operation. He said the new structure is designed to serve all aspects of Manitowoc’s relationship with its customers.
“Over the past month we’ve worked hard to build the best possible team to serve all facets of our relationship with customers,” he said. “That runs from the initial introduction with new customers, through the product development process, on to supporting them with the best service and then retaining them with a combination of innovative new machines and superior customer care. As part of that we’ve not only selected highly experienced and talented team members for new positions, we’ve also reevaluated our processes to ensure we’re doing the best we can for our customers. I believe we’re now in great shape to serve our customers even better than we have before.”
Sales and marketing
One function that is not split by product line, but rather by region, is sales and marketing, to allow Manitowoc to use its region-specific experience to serve the needs of individual markets. This structure will also allow the company to better serve those customers that have multinational operations.
Working under Dave Hull, global senior vice president of sales and marketing, are a number of regional senior vice presidents and vice presidents. These will be: David Semple, vice president of sales for the Middle East and English-speaking parts of Africa; Raman Joshi, vice president and general manager for Asia-Pacific; Klaus Kroeppel, vice president of sales for Central and Eastern Europe; Christophe Simoncelli, vice president of sales for Western Europe and French-speaking parts Africa; Mike Heacock, senior vice president of sales for North America; and Bruce Buchan, senior vice president of sales for Latin America.
