Manitowoc Delivers Cranes for Growing Mexican Petrochemical Market

October 28, 2014 - To serve Mexico's growing petrochemical industry, Grúas Villarreal has taken delivery of a 182-ton Manitowoc MLC165 crawler crane. The machine was purchased by the rental company at ConExpo.

 

Grúas Villarreal owns about 30 Manitowoc mobile cranes. The company also ordered a 660-ton capacity Manitowoc 18000 crawler crane. 

 

Grúas Villarreal will uses MLC165 at one of the country’s largest plastic production projects, Ethylene XXI. The forthcoming industrial complex that will annually produce 1.2 million tons of polyethylene. The project will start in early 2015.

 

For its other purchase, the company’s new Manitowoc 18000 crawler crane will be used on the reconfiguration and construction of Pemex refineries across Mexico. Pemex, or Petróleos Mexicanos, is Mexico’s government-owned oil company.
