Mazzella Companies has been recognized for its exceptional contribution to last year's Global Lifting Awareness Day (GLAD) by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA).
Mazzella emerged as the unanimous choice of a judging panel for providing the most impactful contribution from a company or individual to #GLAD2023, the fourth annual celebration dedicated to promoting safe and high-quality load lifting. Through social media posts, videos, articles and in-person activities, Mazzella led the way in championing this crucial cause.
The award was presented to Mazzella representatives by Ross Moloney, CEO of LEEA, during the Associated Wire Rope Fabricators (AWRF) Spring General Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. Mazzella, a steadfast supporter of GLAD since its inception in 2020, shares a kindred spirit with AWRF, which operates an accreditation program under LEEA's oversight.
“Winning this award was both surprising and affirming. Last year marked our most significant involvement in GLAD to date. We dedicated our efforts to a comprehensive campaign that spanned multiple media, including articles, videos, and a podcast. These initiatives were aimed at supporting the vision of LEEA and GLAD, with the goal of raising overall awareness of the lifting and rigging industry,” Mike Close, corporate marketing and communications manager, Mazzella, said.
“This award is recognition for the whole marketing team,” Close continues. “We were motivated by the increasing participation we observed in the industry and inspired by partners, like Kito Crosby, who received a similar award for their efforts in 2022. This appreciation of our peers spurred us to enhance our involvement and create an engaging and impactful awareness campaign.”
Central to Mazzella's contribution was a special episode of its Safety Factor podcast, featuring Ross Moloney, released on the eve of #GLAD2023. Additionally, Mazzella published two pivotal articles and curated engaging content across social media platforms.
Looking ahead, #GLAD2024 promises to be the most extensive yet, with a new logo symbolizing the event's evolution. Mazzella pledges to continue its multi-medium approach to spread awareness and advocate for key industry messages. The focus of this year's campaign will center on skills and employment, underscoring the critical need for professional development and safety within the industry.
