MLE's Full Line of Boom and Scissor Lifts Now EX Certified

MLE's boom lifts and scissor lifts are now EX certified.

September 26, 2007 • Man & Material Lift Engineering, Cudahy, Wis., has expanded its work with Factory Mutual in order for its complete line of boom lifts and scissor lifts to be EX certified for hazardous environments.

MLE's EX certified model lineup is approved for operation in environments that contain explosive gases, which include ratings up to Class I, Division I, Group D. These machines have significantly more spark and fire protection than EE-rated machines, which should never be used where known explosive gases are present. Typical applications for EX certified machines include gas storage locations; oil and gas drilling and processing; paint booths and painting areas; aerosol plants, and chemical plants.

EX machines developed by MLE includes scissor lifts ranging from 15 to 40 feet, articulating boom lifts from 45 to 80 feet, and telescopic boom lifts from 40 to 80 feet. Now third generation machines, the EX models include battery condition indicators, a motion alarm, and a three-way ultra-sensitive collision bump-stop system.
