More than $50 Million in Machines Sold at Ritchie Bros.'s Houston Auction
November 18, 2015 - More than 4,200 equipment and trucks sold for $50+ million last week at Ritchie Bros.'s unreserved public auction in Houston, Texas. The two-day auction attracted more than 4,500 bidders from 55 countries, including 2,700 online bidders. Approximately 53% of the equipment was sold to out-of-state buyers from as far away as Turkey, China, and India.
The company conducted five auctions in Houston in 2015, selling a combined 19,700+ lots for more than $238 million with more than 21,000 total bidder registrations.
More than 4,200 items from 550 sellers were sold at the November auction, including more than 300 trailers, 75 cranes, 60 forklifts, and 60 flatbed trucks.
Specific sales highlights a 200-ton Link-Belt HC248H conventional truck crane sold for $345,000; two 60-ton Link-Belt HTC8660 hydraulic truck cranes sold for a combined $240,000; a 2014 Kenworthh T800 sleeper truck tractor sold for $130,000; and a 2015 Kenworth W900 truck tractor sold for $107,500.
