July 11, 2016 - The Morrow Training Center has added an interactive training station to its main classroom, and expanded staff in its tower crane training operations. The station now features Liebherr’s AC500 PLC system, used in the Litronic tower-crane line, and has added industry veteran Ian Chase to its training staff.
The Liebherr PLC system allows maintenance technicians, supervisors, and operators to become familiar with the operation of the PLCs and drives in the system. It offers live demonstrations of the main features of this state-of-the-art system, such as work-range limitation, heavy-lifting capabilities, capacity reduction, data-recording information, and operator display screens. The aim of the addition of this training equipment is to provide high-quality, real-world training for everyone using tower cranes in the industry today.
Chase’s instructional focus will be on NCCCO preparatory training programs for tower-crane operator, signal person and rigger. He brings 24 years of experience, as an operator, safety professional, and certified construction safety and health trainer, to the position.
