March 25, 2008 • John Kennedy of the Manitowoc Crane Group, Manitowoc, Wis., has been named president of the board of directors of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) for 2008. Kennedy was named president in 2005, and previously served as NCCCO secretary/treasurer for two terms.
Ron Schad of Essex Crane Rental, Buffalo Grove, Ill., now serves as immediate past president; he was board president from 2002-2004. J. Chris Ryan of Boh Bros. Construction in Baton Rouge, La., again serves as secretary/treasurer. Ryan has been a member of the NCCCO board since 2003. Garry Higdem of CH2M Hill, Englewood, Colo., has been elected to serve as vice president. A member of the board since 1999, Higdem has served as vice president since 2002.
Kerry Hulse of Deep South Crane & Rigging, in Houston, Texas, will continue to serve as chairman of commissioners. Stephen Brown of the International Union of Operating Engineers; Dale Daul of McGough Construction; Robert Steiner of Kelley Equipment Co. of Florida; and Gene Owens of Granite Construction, were elected board members.
