The NCCCO Foundation unveiled MyCraneCareer.org, a new online resource designed to address the growing need for skilled professionals in the crane industry. The website aims to educate and inspire individuals to pursue careers as crane operators, riggers and signalpersons, among other roles, in response to a predicted shortage fueled by an aging workforce.
“As with all skilled trade jobs, there is a significant need for many more quality people to fill and grow the career pipeline in the crane industry,” T.J. Cantwell, executive director of NCCCO Foundation, said. “The NCCCO Foundation recognized that the crane industry did not have a one-stop online resource that could provide the needed information and tools for individuals to learn about the many varied and amazing careers available. MyCraneCareer.org addresses a critical gap for our industry, and ultimately, we believe that it has the potential to create long-term, positive impact on our nation’s economy.”
The site offers videos, career quizzes, role pathways, and connections to industry resources, aiming to fill the talent pipeline as demand for crane operators rises with infrastructure projects funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The need to develop a quality workforce that can fill the pipeline was the driving force behind the development of MyCraneCareer.org and the accompanying national workforce development campaign for the crane industry,” Cantwell, said.
The NCCCO Foundation plans to promote the website over the next year through targeted campaigns, supporting workforce development in the crucial crane industry.
