NCCCO to Hold Industry Forum on Personnel Qualifications

August 21, 2018 - With OSHA's November deadline to certify crane operators looming, the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) is offering the industry a timely chance to discuss the certification, evaluation, and qualification of crane operators.

The NCCCO's Third Annual Industry Forum on Personnel Qualifications is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Maritime Conference Center, Linthicum Heights (Baltimore), Md.

Scheduled to coincide with NCCCO's Commissioners Fall Meetings Week, this year's forum will bring together crane industry experts to discuss the latest topics and trends related to crane and rigging personnel qualifications.

In addition to reviewing the status of state and federal (OSHA) standards and regulations, the forum will address many relevant issues, including: How to Maintain Program Integrity through a Robust Ethics and Auditing System; What a Deep Dive into Testing Data Reveals about Candidates; Tackling the "Most Similar" Dilemma: CTAG Gets Down to Work; Interpreting OSHA's Interpretations; and What's Next on the Certification Horizon?

The Forum will conclude with a panel discussion about subjects as diverse as: Does Virtual Reality Have a Role in High-Stakes Certification?; When Do Testing Accommodations UNlevel the Playing Field?; The Worrying Trend Among States to Discard Certification; Can We Prevent "Bad Actor" Certification Shopping; and much more. Attendees are welcomed to bring their questions to challenge the panel’s experts.

NCCCO says the forum will be beneficial for contractors, crane and rigging companies, training organizations, insurance providers, steel erectors, regulatory agencies, and candidates and certificants.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. For more information, visit www.nccco.org
