New Folding Basket for Service Cranes Makes Work Safer

Diversified Products brand LiftWise, Waco, Texas, has introduced its single-man folding basket for service cranes.

The new basket provides fall arrest and fall protection, while helping eliminate the need for ladders or climbing on equipment. When not in use, the basket folds up for easier transport and space-saving storage.

Its full-sized floor and large open area accommodated workers and materials for increased productivity. The slotted floor lets water drain, while upset holes offer skid resistance. The inward-opening gate provides easy entry while minimizing space needed.

The basket attaches to the crane’s boom top with an adapter built specifically for each customer’s make and model of crane. When finished working, crews can easily fold the basket in less than a minute from its 30” x 30” x 42” working size to 40” x 19” x 45” stowed dimensions. It weighs just 230 lbs.

The basket delivers 350-lb. capacity and is made of steel to stand up to the rigors of heavy-duty work environments, including utilities, mining, and more. It meets or exceeds industry standards ASME B30.5, ASME B30.22, ASME B30.23 and CSA Z150. 

The single-man folding basket will be on display in booth F100022 at the ConExpo-Con/Agg trade show in Las Vegas, March 10-14.
