Nominate Your Top Trainer Now
There’s still plenty of time to nominate an outstanding trainer for recognition in the 2020 Top Trainer Award program, but this is the time of year full of tradeshows and preparation for construction’s busy season, so weeks zip by in a blink.
That’s why you should take a few minutes today to nominate an outstanding trainer for recognition in the prestigious Top Trainer Awards, conducted by Crane Hot Line magazine and endorsed by the Association of Crane & Rigging Professionals.
ACRP’s membership includes some of the industry’s top professionals — experts who have literally written the book on rigging practices and techniques or who are on the committees that develop the industry’s best-practice standards.
Recognition in Print and at ACRP General Assembly
Nominees can be crane or rigging trainers, safety directors, career technical education teachers, craft instructors, equipment dealers, rental companies, contractors, rigging suppliers, manufacturers, or training companies.
The Top Trainer recognition program is divided into two categories. The “Professional” category is for trainers who work for companies whose main business is training.
The “Corporate” category is for trainers who work for companies whose main business is something other than training, such as equipment rental companies, contractors, manufacturers, and equipment dealers. Entrants in this category might not even be full-time trainers. They could, for example, be salespeople or service technicians who spend part of their time educating customers.
Top Trainer nominations are reviewed by a panel of rigging and training experts from the ACRP and editors from Crane Hot Line. The panel chooses one Top Trainer in the Professional category and one in the Corporate category.
Each Top Trainer receives an engraved trophy, complimentary registration to the ACRP 2020 general assembly in San Diego, May 12-14, hotel accommodations during the event, a $2,000 education scholarship, and recognition in Crane Hot Line magazine.
The runner-up in each category receives honorable mention recognition, complimentary registration to the ACRP general assembly, and coverage in Crane Hot Line.
New for 2020: Nominate by Video
This year, for the first time, people may nominate trainers by video or audio. Just record the nomination on your phone as a voice memo or video, then upload the file online at www.toptraineraward.com.
The idea is to make nominating more comfortable for people who would rather just talk about a nominee than submit written entries.
People who prefer to submit a nomination the same way as in years past should also go to www.toptraineraward.com, type the appropriate information into the online form, and upload any supporting documents.
Nominations close March 31, but time is flying. Make sure your Top Trainer candidate has a chance to get the recognition they deserve. Nominate them today.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Companies that want to be known as supporters of training excellence can boost their profile by sponsoring Top Trainer.

Sponsors are recognized at the ACRP general assembly, in Crane Hot Line, and on the Crane Hot Line and Top Trainer websites. To find out more about sponsorships, contact any Crane Hot Line account manager.
