NTEA Recognizes 13 Companies for Safety, Quality

October 13, 2008 • Through its Member Verification Program (MVP), the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), Farmington Hills, Mich., has recognized 13 member companies and requalified 44 companies for their commitment to safety and quality standards. This brings the total number of companies who have achieved MVP status to 383 since NTEA initiated this program in May 2005.

The Member Verification Program recognizes distributors, manufacturers and upfitters for implementing quality business practices and for complying with specific government safety regulations. Criteria to meet the MVP standards can involve liability insurance, warranty programs, vehicle and employee certification, safety policies, and quality assurance. Program standards were enhanced July 1, 2008, to include more stringent requirements.

The newest MVPs for the third quarter of 2008 are Bert's Truck Equipment of Moorhead, Moorhead, Minn.; Commercial Van Interiors, Phoenix, Ariz.; Detroit Chassis, Detroit, Mich.; Excellance, Madison, Ala. ; Freightliner Specialty Vehicles, Clinton, Okla. ; Gulf City Body & Trailer Works, Mobile, Ala. ; Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems, Hebron, Ohio; Knapheide Truck Equipment, Midland, N.C.; Knapheide Truck Equipment-Southeast, Orlando, Fla.; Meyer 'Diamond' Products, Damariscotta, Maine; Monroe Truck Equipment, Monroe, Wis.; Silent Drive, Orange City, Iowa; and Ultron Lift Corp., Buffalo, N.Y.

“We congratulate these members who have demonstrated compliance to key quality standards and for building better relationships between distributors and manufacturers, and between suppliers and their customers,” said Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. “With the recent introduction of updated criteria, we have raised the bar of the MVP program to even higher standards which should impact the quality efforts of our members and industry to an even greater extent.”
