Omaha Standard Palfinger Makes Changes in Design Engineering Group
January 18, 2013—Omaha Standard PALFINGER (OSP), Council Bluffs, Iowa, announced that it will be increasing its new product development focus on several of the products built in Council Bluffs, as well as the new PSC telescopic crane line and MBB products now being produced by the company.
The engineering group will be aligned to provide adequate support for the service body lines and the company's lifting products that include PSC telescopic cranes, hydraulic hoists, and lift gates.
Andrew Schumacher has been named engineering manager—work truck bodies. Since starting with Omaha Standard Palfinger in 2010, he has held several different engineering roles throughout each product line. With the latest product line being PSC Cranes, he has worked directly with Palfinger standards and processes and has a good understanding of how to utilize existing Palfinger technology and adapt it to the North American market.
Mario Hufnagl has been named engineering and product manager—lifting systems. In December 2004, Hufnagl joined Palfinger's Engineering department where he designed knuckleboom cranes. In June 2011, He started to work for OSP in June 2011, where he was responsible for the development of Palfinger Service Cranes.
"As we build upon our strengths of the past, we also recognize the benefits associated by adapting many of Palfinger’s standards regarding new product development, evaluation and approval of designs and testing," stated Jim Brown, OSP's commercial manager. "Bringing on a full line of telescopic cranes and mechanics trucks within a 18-month period has proven our abilities, and this new organization will now align our processes within all OSP products."
In other OSP news, Tampa Crane and Body Inc. will represent the company's Palfinger PAL pro mechanic's trucks and PSC telescopic service cranes in Florida.
Tampa Crane and Body's President Brian Glover said: "We have partnered with Palfinger and OSP for over ten years, selling their products in the state of Florida. We are very impressed to see that Palfinger has committed itself to the same level of excellence on the PAL Pro crane bodies and the PSC crane line as they have on the other products they manufacture. We are very excited to be partnering once again with Palfinger to bring the PAL Pro and PSC cranes to the market in the state of Florida".
