August 17, 2007 • Palmer Johnson Power Systems, Madison, Wis., has announced the appointment of Craig Parsons to the position of president. The office of president had been vacant since the partial retirement of former Palmer Johnson president, Gary Sorg, in 2004.  Parsons had served as Palmer Johnson's general manager during the interim period.

Parsons' primary focus since joining Palmer Johnson has been the growth of the company's service business. He has promoted the development of Palmer Johnson's outside sales force, refocused the company's marketing activities and has worked to add service capabilities throughout the Palmer Johnson service network, including the construction of the company's 65,000 remanufacturing center in Sun Prairie, Wis.

The company has also promoted Jeff Magusin to vice president of sales. Magusin, based in Palmer Johnson's Phoenix service center, previously held the roles of regional manager and national sales manager for Palmer Johnson. Magusin has been with the company since 2002 when Palmer Johnson purchased California's n.a. D'Arcy Co.

Magusin's responsibilities will expand to include managing newly hired outside salespeople in Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City and Phoenix; adding new outside sales representatives in Denver and Northern California; targeting national transmission and axle remanufacturing opportunities; launching new products including AxleTech, Carraro, and ZF; and increasing service-related business.

Since being named as manager of Palmer Johnson's sales force, Magusin has made significant strides in building the sales team. In the first six months of 2007, he has added four outside salespeople.

Palmer Johnson Power Systems specializes in servicing and supplying components for heavy-duty, off highway transmissions and axles. The company operates 12 full-service branches across North America with more than 50 factory-trained technicians. PJ Power also operates volume OEM transmission and axle remanufacturing programs out of the company's Madison, Wis., headquarters
